To Seven
by Angharad ini've not been on the forum all weekend, but i've just read the women jokes tread.. i just wanted to say that i think that what patricia said to you was totally unjustifed and very unfair, and i'm positive that she is the only person here that thinks that way.
if she bothered to read other posts that you have made, she would see that you are one of the most caring and loving people here.. btw: i thought the joke was hilarious.

I find this ridiculous rhetoric highly offensive. And Simon you should be ashamed of yourself. The male brain was very accurate, but the female? I think not. I for one have a fine sense of direction, and can see this topic is heading in the wrong one.
My husband and I take turns being the head. (it is only fair, and since he was never a witness it was really easy to train him)
The reason it is so hard to find mutated female DNA is because there is none. Wendy was correct. Women's DNA is so highly developed that it has reached a stage where no more improvement is necessary or even desired!!!

taking the long view
by amicus innot often have i regretted being an inactive jw.
today though, i heard a true story i would have loved to use as an "effective introduction" in a talk.
it seems two southern gentlemen were out frog gigging in a very remote area.

Claudia,
Frog legs are rather tasty if prepared properly. They ummm... I'm sorry I have to say it, taste a little bit like chicken. They are a little different texture though. White meat. Turtle is also delicious if prepared right.

Do you still attend meetings?
by Sassenach ini'm wondering if you still attend meetings?
do you hold out hope for the watchtower organization?
if you've left entirely, have you found another form of worship?

Anytime Larc. I am willing to accept you just on the basis of who you are married to. But you are starting to grow on me too!

Creed--Collective Soul--Sixpence
by joel inwhassup!.
i thought i would toss out a few group names with a distinctive spiritual bent to their lyrics...and see what yall thought of them.. creed is big right now...lyrics are...well...you tell me.. same with sixpence none the richer...collective soul...kendall payne(she does that theme song for the show popular)...and others.. there are a number of popular, secular groups with a noticable spiritual message to their lyrics.. any thoughts!?.

Wendy,
Sounds to me like you might be talking from experience. We'll have to try that one.
Blushing? And you with three kids and me none! Haa! Bet you could teach me a thing or two.

Prisca,
A bunch of men go out at night. They take lights with them. They go out to a river or a pond or some other body of water. They shine the lights around the water. Then they take these long sticks with points on the end and stab frogs.
Then they have a big party and fry up the frogs and eat em'.
It's a testosterone thing. Never saw frog giggin' but I saw fish giggin' it is a sight to see. All that raw testosterone. I think it is from the caveman time when the men had to git' the food for the wimen and chilren'.

All my life...
by SixofNine in....i have always heard the term, "dedication", used as part and parcle of the term/act of baptism.
you know, "dedication and baptism".. just recently, i've been wondering, why?
it's not that i don't believe dedicating oneself to jehovah is a noble thing, i'm just wondering what the reasoning is for formally linking dedication with baptism.. have i missed something really simple here?

Trevor,
I am so glad you are happy. I am too now. But that hasn't always been the case. Took me a little longer to figure it out.
But life is good now. Married to a wonderful understanding man "in the world" thank god! Rid of the self-righteous, ex-bethelite, abusing, hypocrite and all the rest of the tripe.

Angels directing the preaching?
by amicus ini had an interesting experience the other day.. i have been inactive for a long time and have recently begun to look closer at what i had come to believe was the "truth".
i have been busy reading and researching various related topics (some of my reading has included the interesting posts at this excellent site) and was starting to think that i have been misled by the wtbts.
friday night i earnestly prayed to jehovah to help me to have an open mind and to be objective in my analysis.
